The photovoltaic effect, or, how the sun’s rays can be used to create an electrical current, was first discovered by Alexandre Edmond Becquerel in the 1830’s. Today, nearly 200 years later, the solar energy technologies that he inspired can harness the sun’s energy to power your home, from lights and appliances to heat and hot water.
As a valuable source of clean, sustainable energy that helps to curb the negative effects on our climate caused by the use of fossil fuels, we believe that solar power is something everyone should embrace.
